BRIEF DESCRIPTION/REPORT:
A dual celebration of the institution’s Annual Day and the 90th Birthday of Dr. Ramdas Pai, Hon’ble Chancellor of MAHE and Padma Bhushan awardee, was successfully held. The Hon’ble Vice Chancellor of Sikkim Manipal University, Dr. Gopalakrishna Prabhu was the chief guest of the event. The event was attended by esteemed dignitaries, academic and administrative staff from SMIT, SMU, and CDOE.
The programme commenced with the welcoming of Chief Guests: Prof. (Dr.) GK Prabhu, Hon’ble Vice Chancellor, SMU (and his wife); Dr. Muralidhar V. Pai, Pro Vice Chancellor, SMU & Dean, SMIMS; Prof. (Dr.) Karma Sonam Sherpa, Registrar, SMU; Prof. (Dr.) Sourav Dhar, Director, CDOE (and his wife); Dr. Sangeeta Jha; Dr. Kalpana Sharma, DOR; Dr. Keerthilatha M Pai, Controller of Examination, SMU; and other dignitaries, followed by the ceremonial lighting of the diya.
Dr. Rinzing Ongmu Sherpa delivered the welcome address, expressing immense pleasure in hosting the distinguished guests. She paid a heartfelt tribute to Dr. Ramdas Pai, acknowledging his remarkable journey and echoing his inspiring message: “Adversities and the fear of failure are natural, but success comes to those who overcome that fear.”
The event included cultural performances, addresses by key dignitaries, and an Award Distribution Ceremony recognizing exceptional contributions:
