The Central Referral Hospital, Sikkim Manipal University, in association with SBTC, observed World Blood Donor Day on 13th June 2025 with great enthusiasm and heartfelt gratitude toward voluntary blood donors. The event aimed to recognize the invaluable contributions of blood donors and promote the importance of regular voluntary blood donation.
The program commenced with a warm welcome extended to all guests, attendees, participants, and most importantly, our voluntary blood donors.
Highlights of the Program:
- Motivational Address: Dr. Muralidhar V Pai, Dean, delivered an inspiring speech appreciating the dedication of donors and emphasizing the life-saving impact of their generosity. His words encouraged others to become regular donors.
- Keynote Speech: Dr. Amrita, In-charge of the Blood Centre, highlighted the critical role of voluntary blood donation in healthcare and the importance of continued community involvement.
- Donor Felicitation: A total of 15 regular voluntary blood donors were honored with certificates of appreciation and tokens of gratitude for their repeated and selfless contributions.
- Student Speeches: Miss Prachi Vashist (Intern) and Miss Arawali (Phase II MBBS Student) delivered impactful speeches underscoring the importance of blood donation and community responsibility.
- Slogan Competition: Held on the theme 'Give Blood, Give Hope: Together We Save Lives'. 30 students participated, with the top 4 slogans being recognized with certificates and mementos. All participants were acknowledged for their efforts.
Conclusion:
The event concluded with a heartfelt vote of thanks and a renewed pledge by all attendees to raise awareness among family, friends, colleagues, and the broader community about the importance of regular voluntary, unpaid blood donation. Everyone was encouraged to donate blood selflessly, without discrimination or personal gain, whenever there is a need.
