LinkedIn Workshop

On 26th April, the
Faculty of Humanities, Social Sciences, and Liberal Arts, Sikkim Manipal
University, organized a special workshop in collaboration with FACE Prep and
LinkedIn, the world's leading professional networking platform. Held at Lecture
Theatre III, Level 5, the session was part of the nationwide #LinkedInCareerKickstarter
initiative, aimed at empowering students with free access to LinkedIn
Premium and essential career development tools.
The workshop began with a
comprehensive overview of LinkedIn's key features, highlighting how students
can build a strong professional presence, grow their networks, and explore
meaningful career opportunities. A representative from LinkedIn demonstrated
vital platform functionalities, including profile optimization techniques,
effective networking strategies, and the use of InMail to connect with
recruiters and industry professionals.
As a part of the
initiative, participants were invited to complete feedback forms and, in
return, were granted a complimentary three-month LinkedIn Premium membership.
This premium access allowed students to unlock advanced features, such as
LinkedIn Learning courses across various domains, direct messaging to industry
experts, and enhanced tools for internship and job discovery.
A dedicated Q&A
session followed, where students actively engaged with the representative,
seeking personalized advice and deeper insights into navigating the platform
effectively.
The two-and-a-half-hour
workshop concluded successfully, with 45 students participating. The session
left attendees better informed, motivated, and equipped to strategically
leverage LinkedIn as a powerful tool for their professional growth.
