Observation of World AIDS Day 2025

World AIDS Day 2025 was observed at Sikkim Manipal College of Nursing under the coordination of the Red Ribbon Club and the Student Nurses Association (SNA). To commemorate the day, red ribbon badges were distributed across the University, College, and Central Referral Hospital to promote awareness.
A poster-making competition was organized on the theme “Overcoming Disruption, Transforming the AIDS Response”, where students creatively presented messages highlighting the importance of HIV prevention, awareness, and stigma reduction. The winners of the competition were awarded with certificates and gifts, while the participants were awarded with certificate for participation.>
As part of community outreach, SNA representatives and Peer Educators visited M.G. Marg, where they interacted with the public, conducted short interviews to assess their awareness on AIDS, and distributed red ribbon badges. Individuals who lacked knowledge were provided with brief education on HIV transmission and prevention.
Overall, the event successfully promoted awareness, encouraged open dialogue, and strengthened SMCON’s commitment to public health education.
