On 26th March 2025, the NSS Sikkim Manipal College of Nursing and, NSS Faculty of Humanities Social Sciences and Liberal Arts, hosted a highly impactful Mega Blood Donation Camp in collaboration with the Red Ribbon Club and Saksham Bharti Foundation under the LG CSR initiative at CRH. The event commenced at 10:00 am and carried on for the day, supported by 4 nursing student volunteers from SMCON, aimed at promoting voluntary blood donation and addressing the urgent need for blood in medical situations. The blood donation effort experienced an enthusiastic turnout, with 38 participants coming forward to donate blood, resulting in a contribution of 38 units. This event emphasized the critical role of blood donation and encouraged a sense of social responsibility and empathy among all involved.

The main aim of the camp was to encourage voluntary blood donation, promote understanding of its importance, and boost the blood supply available to blood banks. Additionally, it aimed to instil a sense of civic duty in students, motivating them to take part in the betterment of society.

The day began with registering volunteers and conducting health assessments, which confirmed that all donors met the eligibility criteria to participate. Participants received information about the significance of blood donation before commencing the donation procedure. After donating, contributors were offered refreshments and provided a space to relax and hydrate. They also received certificates and LG-branded Milton water bottles. The successful participation of 38 blood donors highlighted the effectiveness of the drive, as each contribution played a vital role in enhancing the community’s access to essential blood supplies.

In summary, the Mega Blood Donation Camp on 26th March 2025 was an outstanding success. The collaborative efforts of NSS, Red Ribbon Club, LG, and the Saksham Bharti Foundation, along with the commitment of 38 volunteers, rendered this event a meaningful and impactful endeavour. Not only did the drive enhance the blood supply, but it also raised significant awareness about blood donation and its potential to save lives. The event demonstrated the strength of collaboration and community involvement, setting a positive precedent for future social service efforts.
