PLANTATION DRIVE

On the occasion of National Cadet Corps raising day, the National Cadet Corps Cadets of Sikkim Manipal Institute of Technology (SMIT) carried out a plantation drive within the college premises. The plantation drive was started with the respected director, SMIT, Prof. (Dr.) Savitha G. Kini planting a tree. Other senior faculty members, including Additional Director (Students’ affairs) i/c, head of TP&IL (Training Placement and Industry Liaison), Head of Quality Cell, Chief Warden, Head-Admin and 33 Senior Division/Senior Wing (Army) cadets planted around 25 flower plants. Prof. (Dr.) Savitha G. Kini interacted with the National Cadet Corps cadets and emphasized on carrying out more such initiatives of social service and community development. Teachers and cadets discussed the need of individual and group contribution towards the VIKSHIT BHARAT plan of the Hon’ble Prime Minister of Bharat. The National Cadet Corps Unit, SMIT, extends sincere gratitude to respected Director, SMIT and Associate Director (Students’ affairs), SMIT for giving the needed support, encouragement and participation.
