The M.Tech in Hydrology and Water Resources Engineering at Sikkim Manipal Institute of Technology (SMIT) is a two-year postgraduate program focused on advanced study of surface and groundwater hydrology, hydraulic structures, watershed and flood management, and climate-resilient water resource planning. The program offers hands-on training through the Hydrology and Hydraulics Lab, GIS and Remote Sensing Lab, Modeling Lab (Hydrology/Hydraulics software), and computational tools like Python and MATLAB for Water Resources, along with project-based learning and a research-driven dissertation. Graduates are well-prepared for careers in government agencies (CWC, CGWB, NIH), private consultancies, hydropower and infrastructure firms, research institutions, and international organizations, or to pursue doctoral studies in related fields.
