DESCRIPTION:
The Sports Council
2025 of Sikkim Manipal Institute
of Technology successfully conducted the Open
Table Tennis Tournament 2025, organized under the leadership of the TT
Coordinator.
The tournament was held from February 25
to March 05, 2025, featuring competitive matches across multiple categories,
including Men’s Singles, Women’s Singles, Men’s Doubles, Women’s Doubles,
and Mixed Doubles.
All matches were conducted in a best-of-5
format, with each set played
up to 11 points, ensuring a display
of skill and determination by all participants. In the Men’s Singles
final, Sherab Dorjee
Bhutia secured the championship
with a commanding 3-0 victory over Abhineet Mishra. The Women’s
Singles final saw Sneha Dutta claim the title with a 3-1 win against Nima
Yanchen Sherpa. In the doubles categories, Abhineet Mishra & Sambhav Singh
Jaiswal won the Men’s Doubles title, while Nima Yanchen Sherpa & Sneha
Dutta triumphed in the Women’s
Doubles. The Mixed Doubles final concluded with Sherab
Dorjee Bhutia & Tenzom Trinley Bhutia emerging as champions with a 3-0 win.
With 32 unique
participants, the tournament highlighted the growing
enthusiasm for table tennis
at SMIT. The Sports Council
expresses its heartfelt
appreciation to all players, coordinators, and supporters whose efforts contributed to the resounding
success of this event.
