The Faculty Development Program (FDP) aims to provide faculty members with a practical understanding of Generative Artificial Intelligence (Generative AI) and its applications in education. Participants will learn key concepts of Machine Learning (ML), Deep Learning (DL), and Transformers, which form the backbone of modern AI models like ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini etc. The program will cover the fundamentals of generative AI, including image and text generation, and its real-world applications for teaching, research, and content creation. Faculty will gain hands-on experience using AI tools to enhance classroom experiences, automate tasks, generate creative content, and support academic work, while also exploring ethical considerations and potential challenges. By the end, participants will feel confident in integrating generative AI into their teaching and research, fostering innovation in education. The FDP will also encourage critical thinking about AI's evolving role in academia and inspire educators to lead digital transformation in their institutions. Additionally, collaborative activities and real-world case studies will provide practical insights into how generative AI can be tailored to diverse academic disciplines.
